With 9.2 channels of generous power, the AVC-X4700H opens up a whole new range of surround sound and multi-room options. Choose between 7.2.2 or 5.2.4 Dolby Atmos speaker configurations with two or four ceiling speakers. Alternatively, stick with 5.2.2 and power a second pair of speakers in another room or bi-amp your main pair of speakers. As your system grows, so the capability of this Denon AVC grows with it.

Optional 11-channel sound for full immersion
Add an extra stereo power amp and the Denon lets you configure four ceiling or Atmos-enabled speakers as well as full 7-channel surround sound. Alternatively, use two Atmos speakers and enjoy a broad soundstage with 'front wide speakers' forming a 9.2.2 system. If you don't fancy a Dolby Atmos specific system but want the most immersive sound possible, go for an 11.2 configuration. This offers 7.2 sound with the addition of front width and front height speakers.

Supporting four, core 3D sound formats, the AVC-X4700 has you fully covered. Classic Dolby Atmos is complimented by Atmos Height Virtualisation Technology for 3D sound without all the speakers. DTS:X and Virtual:X offer the same versatility. IMAX Enhanced takes DTS recordings to the highest cinematic standards. Auro-3D, meanwhile, gives you the intensity of immersive, 3D sound, from all formats – including TV, gaming and music – without the need for Dolby or DTS encoding.

Ready for 8K
Featuring 8K compliant HDMI sockets, this premium Denon AVC is ready for the next generation of TV. Not only does the amp pass through 8K/60Hz signals, but it also upscales HDMI signals to the 8K standard, too – helping you make the most of your 8K TV with 4K UHD media. If you’ve not yet made the jump to 8K TV, the sockets also handle up to 4K/120Hz signals, for the highest quality pass through and upscaling with 4K UHD.

Supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and Dynamic HDR
As well as supporting 8K, the AVC-X4700H also supports a wide range of High Dynamic Range video formats. These include Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG. It also supports HDR10+, which enhances picture realism by sending dynamic Meta data to your TV, as well as Dynamic HDR. Now works with all the voice assistants
The AVC-X4700 adds Siri and Google Assistant to Alexa, making it more widely compatible with voice assistants than before. For Alexa or Google Assistant control, simply download the HEOS app. Pair your Echo device if you’re using Alexa and you’re good to go – adjust the volume, skip to the next track and switch inputs simply by asking Alexa or Google. For control via Siri, simply link the amp via Apple AirPlay 2 and enjoy voice interaction and AirPlay 2 multi-room support.

Inherited from the former AVC-X8500H flagship AVC, the AVC-X4700H now has the same Dual SHARC+ core DSP (Digital Signal Processor) for immense processing power. Denon's AL32 Processing provides ultra-high resolution digital audio filtering and precision tailoring of the main channels to give pinpoint precision and the most natural sound possible. Finally, AKM 32-bit DACs (Digital to Analogue Convertor) give this AV amp reference levels of detail and Hi-Res audio support.

The AVC-X4700H has no fewer than three HDMI outputs with an independent zone 2. This means you can run audio and video to another screen, in another room independently from the twin, main outputs. The bass driver steps up in size from 6.5 to 8-inches, giving a deeper, more powerful sound than the older Bronze 2 model. Using two tweeters and a single woofer unit in a slim, wall mountable cabinet makes these speakers tailor-made for home cinema. At the flick of a switch you can also change the sound characteristics from di-pole (diffused) to bi-pole (direct) for the exact type of surround sound you require.

Ultra long throw C-CAM bass cone for bass you can feel
The ten inch, long throw C-CAM bass driver found on the W10 is far more high-tech than you'll find on most subs. The seamless, aluminium construction is light and rigid, giving a rapid response to changes in sound. Helping to reinforce the bass still further, a passive ABR (Auxcillary Bass Radiator) at the base of the sub uses energy within the cabinet to strengthen the bass still further. The result is bass that's so powerful, you wouldn't credit it could come from such as modestly sized cabinet.

Powerful 220 watt Class-D amp for total control
Keeping the thunderous bass under tight control is a high current Class-D amplifier. With around 220 watts of clean power to hand, it has little trouble in keeping the bass cone under tight control. Bass starts and stops exactly when it should, with none of the wallow and boom that afflicts lesser subs.

Three pre-set EQ modes
With Music, Movie and Impact modes you can easily change the characteristics of the subwoofer to match your mood. For the most subtle sound, choose Music. A more dynamic sound is had with the Movie mode, making it ideal for the most intense action movies. If you're in party mode or really don't like the neighbours, then switch to Impact for the most powerful sound possible!
