An ELAC icon is reborn. Ooberpad brings you the Elac Miracord 90th Anniversary Turntable. ELAC resurrects a golden era with a turntable to mark its 90th birthday. Ninety is the new thirty, as they say at ELAC, and they are celebrating the occasion by saluting the early decades of the company‘s history when turntables reigned supreme. Memories of those times live on, and not just within Elac's factory walls in Kiel! Akin to ELAC's speakers, Miracord 90 touts phenomenal workmanship, engineering, and sonics. Every aspect of this gorgeous component is designed to playback your vinyl LPs with ravishing detail, remarkable precision, engaging emotionalism, and exacting tonal balance. Miracord 90 brings to life the performances contained in the grooves of your records with addictive immediacy and immersive sound staging. And it does so with virtually silent operation and palpable smoothness, ensuring you hear everything you're supposed to experience and nothing you're not. This is exactly how a tribute to ELAC's golden-age ‘tables should sound, look, and feel.
Miracord 90 features an inert, 12-pound MDF chassis situated on custom-made silicon feet that fully decouple the ‘table from the surface on which it rests, giving the unit rock-solid stability and stellar damping properties. In this way, Miracord 90 not only plays your LPs but functions as a shield against sound-damaging vibrations. Its 14-pound aluminum platter floats above a sub-platter complete with a hardened steel axis that rotates on a ruby ball to thoroughly minimize friction. Even the axis mounting – sintered bronze bearing bushings – is taken into account for maximum fidelity. Double-decoupled from the chassis and hyper-rigid carbon-fiber tonearm, the isolated motor benefits from rubber damping and high-grade suspensions utilized in ELAC loudspeakers. You can also forget about having to worry about cartridge selection or assembly. Miracord 90 arrives with a precision-based, pre-mounted Microline moving-magnet stylus specifically developed for ELAC by Audio-Technica.
Benefits of Elac Miracord 90th Anniversary Turntable:
Heavyweight MDF Chassis
The main chassis of the Miracord is made from 12 lb of MDF, which rests on specially designed silicone feet that are meant to provide separation from the turntable and the surface you place it on.
Smooth Aluminum Platter
The aluminum platter weighs almost 14 lb and sits on a sub-platter whose hardened steel axis rotates on an 8mm ruby ball for minimal friction. The axis is mounted using high-quality sintered bronze bearing bushings.
Isolated Motor The motor is double-decoupled and is rubber dampened with suspension to isolate it from the chassis and tonearm, helping to prevent any unwanted noise from being output through your speakers.
With a lightweight carbon fiber construction, the tonearm produces minimal tracking force to help it operate smoothly with the drive mechanism.
High-Resolution Moving Magnet Cartridge
Developed in cooperation with Audio-Technica, the cartridge features a MicroLine stylus and comes precision-mounted on the tonearm.
