Line-in

Plug in any audio device—from your record player to a friend’s phone—and listen to your favourite music on your Play:5. You can also send the music from your Play:5 to any other Sonos speaker in your home. 

Touch controls 

Tap for the volume. Swipe to change the track. Right from the Play:5 speaker itself. Perfect for when your phone is in hiding or out of reach. 

Multiple orientations

Stand it tall or set it on its side. Either way, Play:5 automatically optimises the sound. When it’s horizontal, it’s in stereo. When it's vertical, it's in mono. The rubber feet on three sides make it safe for any surface. 

Humidity resistant 

We built Play:5 humidity resistant so you can enjoy your favourite songs in music-starved places like bathrooms and outdoor patios. All you need is WiFi access and a place to plug it in. Just remember, it’s not waterproof or weather resistant. 

Over 60,000 hole-grille

Play:5's grille contains thousands of microscopic holes. Giving you the most transparent sound without interference. 

Stereo pair with another Play:5

Get two Play:5s and turn each speaker into separate left and right channels for wider, bigger, and deeper stereo sound.

Six Class-D digital amplifiers perfectly tuned to match the six dedicated speaker drivers and the acoustic architecture.

Three tweeters create the crispest and clearest high-frequency response.

Three mid-woofers ensure you’ll hear the faithful playback of mid-range vocal frequencies plus deep, rich bass—without distortion, even at high volumes.

Phased speaker array (three drivers on top and three on the bottom) creates a wide stereo soundstage that directs the sound left, right, and centre. Audio line-in. An auto-detecting 3.5 mm connection.  Adjustable bass and treble controls let you customise your sound by individual room or groups of rooms.
