Traditionally, speakers sound best with their grilles removed, but this leaves the drive units vulnerable to damage. The MX speakers have been deliberately tuned for grille-on use. Thanks to the built-in waveguide each speaker is able to deliver a balanced sound both on- and off-axis, thus further enhancing both practicality and aesthetics of the series.
